Smoke
A change in our wind pattern will begin today as a N/NE component starts to affect the forecast area this afternoon. These winds will continue through Sunday, increasing in speed and becoming more wide spread. Smoke transport should generally be to the south and those located along the Klamath may see light smoke impact during the day due to smoldering/creeping of the fire and any needed firing operations. Those in Happy Camp and the Seiad Valley will likely see smoke settle overnight and flow down drainage. Coastal areas should continue to see Good air quality. A strong ridge of high pressure will move over the forecast area through the weekend and we will see increased temperatures and decreasing wind speeds by midweek. These more stagnant conditions will likely result in smokier conditions.
